The government has been actively involved in supporting the development of traditional opera towns in Zhejiang Province since 2015. The goal is to boost high-quality economic growth by integrating the cultural industry with rural revitalization efforts. The area has a rich heritage of opera culture. At present, the towns in Zhejiang Province with opera characteristics attract numerous tourists and culture enthusiasts. These towns prioritize the development of cultural and creative industries, performance sectors, and cultural education. However, the region still faces problems and challenges such as cultural heritage preservation, industrial upgrading, and brand building. In order to address these issues, the following measures should be implemented: the government should take the lead in fostering development and promoting policies to support opera education and cultural and creative industries; increase funding for infrastructure, enhance facilities and equipment, and utilize new media and the Internet to promote opera culture; collaborate with social organizations to introduce opera into schools, communities, and theaters, and enhance opera education; innovate in opera culture, diversify activities, establish an opera culture museum, and uphold the spirit of opera culture. These countermeasures will contribute to the sustainable development of towns with opera characteristics in Zhejiang Province, promote cultural inheritance and industrial upgrading, and make them a treasure of opera culture and a popular destination for cultural tourism.
