Abstract

As a comprehensive art form, contemporary cinema is both the result of aesthetic creation and a mirror of social culture. With the development of the film industry and the diversification of audience aesthetic demands, the role of film criticism in artistic evaluation and social guidance has become increasingly important. Film criticism not only needs to evaluate the artistic value of the film works but also needs to delve into their significance and impact on the socio-cultural level. However, establishing the standards for film criticism under the dual perspectives of aesthetics and social significance, to objectively judge the artistic value of works while profoundly reflecting their social and cultural significance, has become a significant topic of current research. This paper aims to explore the logical construction of film criticism standards, attempting to find a possible path for criticism in the balance between aesthetics and social significance, providing theoretical support for in-depth dialogue between film art and social culture.
