Abstract

The current need for the so-called knowledge society is opposed to the growing number of students with fear of Mathematics, a psychological state that prevents them from facing the study of Mathematics adequately, even having the appropriate intellectual capacities for the study of this science. The aforementioned problem manifests itself both in technologically advanced countries and in others determined to achieve their technological development. The present work is a bibliographic study based on practical experiences, aimed at investigating causes that lead students to reject Mathematics, as well as proposing didactic alternatives to positively influence the attitude of the aforementioned students. Therefore, the objective of this work is a didactic proposal to help students gain self-confidence in mathematical work. The methods used are bibliographic analysis, surveys, and verification of results according to the action research method carried out in practice at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The didactic proposal presented is based on the results of different works on the teaching-learning process of Mathematics with sufficient support in the specialized bibliography.
