Abstract

Objective: To explore the application value and advantages of robot-assisted radical gastrectomy in the treatment of gastric cancer patients. Methods: Eighty gastric cancer patients admitted to our hospital from January 2023 to January 2025 were selected and randomly divided into the robot group and the laparoscopic group, with 40 cases each. The laparoscopic group underwent conventional laparoscopic radical gastrectomy, while the robot group received robot-assisted radical gastrectomy. The surgical indicators (intraoperative blood loss, first station lymph nodes, total lymph node dissection), recovery indicators (postoperative drainage volume, first flatus time, drainage tube removal time, first oral intake time), improvement in serological indicators, and complication rates (including vascular injury, anastomotic leakage, and organ injury) were compared between the two groups. Results: The robot group had lower intraoperative blood loss than the laparoscopic group (P < 0.05), higher numbers of first station lymph nodes and total lymph node dissection (P < 0.05), lower postoperative drainage volume and complication rates (vascular injury, anastomotic leakage, organ injury) (P < 0.05), and shorter first flatus time, drainage tube removal time, and first oral intake time (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Robot-assisted radical gastrectomy holds significant application value in treating gastric cancer patients, improving lymph node dissection efficacy, optimizing surgical outcomes, and reducing complications.
