This study aimed to investigate the effects of psychological intervention on fear of cancer recurrence (FCR) and psychological status in patients with non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC). A randomized controlled trial design was adopted, enrolling 189 patients from a tertiary hospital between December 2022 and February 2025. Participants were randomly allocated to either the intervention group (standard treatment + psychological intervention) or the control group (standard treatment alone). The psychological intervention comprised cognitive behavioral therapy, relaxation training, and psychological counseling, administered over a 3-month period. Outcomes were assessed using the Fear of Cancer Recurrence Inventory (FCRI), Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), and Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS). Results demonstrated significant improvements in the intervention group: FCR scores decreased markedly (38.5±6.2 vs. 25.7±5.1, P<0.001), with concurrent reductions in SAS (55.3±8.1 vs. 42.1±7.3, P<0.001) and SDS scores (51.6±7.8 vs. 43.8±6.9, P<0.001). The findings indicate that structured psychological intervention effectively alleviates FCR, anxiety, and depressive symptoms in NMIBC patients, demonstrating substantial clinical value.
