Abstract

As the global aging process accelerates, the health issues of the elderly are receiving increasing attention from society. According to the goals outlined in the "Healthy China 2030" Plan, particular emphasis is placed on the comprehensive health and well-being of the elderly, particularly in terms of physical, mental, and sexual health. This article, set against the backdrop of the "Healthy China" strategy, focuses on the sexual health of widowed elderly individuals. It employs a combination of questionnaire surveys and in-depth interviews to conduct an empirical analysis of the current status of sexual health, psychological state, feelings of loneliness, and social support among widowed elderly individuals in Deyang City. The study reveals that sexual health is closely linked to mental health and social support, with depression and feelings of loneliness significantly impacting the quality of sexual health. Based on these findings, the article proposes an improvement path involving the popularization of sex education, strengthening community support, and psychological intervention, providing practical guidance and policy recommendations for enhancing the sexual health of widowed elderly individuals.
