Abstract

This study develops an innovative model for vocational digital teaching materials in Chinese higher vocational colleges through industry-education integration, using medical English textbooks as a case. Addressing traditional materials’ imitations—slow updates, industry misalignment, and poor interactivity, the research employs action research methodology with iterative “Plan-Act-Observe-Reflect-Replan” cycles. Key innovations include restructuring objectives via Outcome-Based Education (OBE) principles hierarchically aligned with medical workplace competencies using Bloom’s Taxonomy; redesigning content around clinical workflows, concluding integrating medical vocabulary, AI simulations, and case-based dialogues for patient consultation scenarios; implementing a “Triple-Threaded Integration” pedagogical model combining teaching tasks, ideological-political elements on medical ethics, professionalism, etc., and hospital industry standards; Using AI-enhanced platforms for intelligent tools and dynamic resource updates. The research team conducted two-round pilots during 2025 with multi-dimensional evaluation—analyzing student engagement data, teacher feedback, and employer assessments—the model demonstrated enhanced vocational competence, teaching engagement, and curriculum-industry alignment. Results offer a replicable paradigm for digital teaching material development across vocational disciplines, advancing China’s vocational education digital transformation through evidence-based practice.
