Pets need nutritious food constantly to meet their needs. Treating pets as family members is a focus of the demand in the pet industry in Pakistan. Pet owners are looking for their pet food according to their own taste. Specialists in the pet food industry are focusing on the health benefits of the pet products. In Pakistan, the trend of pet keeping is increasing day by day and demanding the best pet food. Pet owners in Pakistan and all around the world are learning pet care and the best composition of pet products to meet the needs of dietary requirements. The work on pet food and its quality is the need of the time to save foreign exchange consumed on the import of pet food products. Because customs tariffs on imported pet food increase the cost by 110% and are projected to climb further, Pakistan has the policies and knowledge in place to start producing pet food locally. There is still a great deal of work to be done in Pakistan regarding the formulation and production of pet food, as there are reportedly very few manufacturers that produce and market their goods there. This review entails the trends in the Paki-stani pet food market, along with challenges faced by the pet owners and the ways to tackle the issues regarding the flourishing of the pet feed industry.
