Abstract

Professor Yang Feng is a renowned scholar dedicated to the study of translation and literature. He upholds a rigorous academic attitude and a profound humanistic spirit in his research. His translation studies, exemplified by the theory of Transknowletology, have provoked extensive academic discussions among numerous scholars. Professor Yang advocates for a return to the nature of transla-tion as a cultural act and social practice of cross-linguistic knowledge processing, reconstruction, and retransmission, centering on the subjects of knowledge and people. He puts forward a triadic principle—the pursuit of truth, virtue, and beauty—as methodological principles for translation practice. In response to the new challenges posed by artificial intelligence tools, Professor Yang emphasizes that knowledge is humanity’s study of things and translation a thing-rooted study of humanity. A pronounced humanistic spirit permeates his ideas, through which Professor Yang provides translators with new perspectives for contemplating the human-machine relationship and the future of the humanities.
