Effect of Xinhuang Tablet Combined with Basic Treatment on Periodontal Indicators and Inflammatory Factors in the Gingival Crevicular Fluid of Patients with Periodontal Disease

Abstract

Objective: To analyze the effect of Xinhuang Tablet combined with basic treatment on periodontal indicators and inflammatory factors in the gingival crevicular fluid of patients with periodontal disease. Methods: A total of 80 patients with periodontal disease admitted from June 2024 to June 2025 were selected as research samples. They were divided into the control group (40 cases) and the observation group (40 cases) by the random number table method. The control group received basic treatment, and the observation group received Xinhuang Tablet combined with basic treatment. Periodontal indicators [Gingival Index (GI), Sulcus Bleeding Index (SBI), Plaque Index (PI)] and inflammatory factors in gingival crevicular fluid [Tumor Necrosis Factor-α (TNF-α), Interleukin-6 (IL-6)] were compared between the two groups. Results: After treatment, the scores of GI, SBI, and PI in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05), and the levels of TNF-α and IL-6 in the observation group were also lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Xinhuang Tablet combined with basic treatment can improve periodontal indicators and inflammatory factors in the gingival crevicular fluid of patients with periodontal disease.
