In the context of the accelerating process of globalization, the standardization of translations for public signs in tourist attractions, which serve as a vital bridge for cross-cultural exchange, holds significant importance and plays a key role in shaping the international image of tourist destinations. The “adaptation-selection theory” advocated by eco-translatology provides a new analytical framework for resolving complex contradictions in cross-cultural translation. This thesis aims to analyze the problems in the translation of tourism public signs from the perspective of eco-translatology, focusing on the linguistic, cultural, and communicative dimensions. By employing research methods such as literature review and case analysis, the study seeks to identify practical solutions and pathways to address these challenges, so as to provide tourism translation practitioners with practical references that integrate both theoretical and operational value. The objective is to contribute to the enhancement of translation practices in China’s tourism, thereby promoting its global visibility and enabling the industry to shine more brilliantly on the international stage.
