Abstract

The correlation between learning motivation and learning strategies is an important topic in second language acquisition research, but in the specific context of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, especially for Mongolian high school learners, theoretical analysis is still insufficient. This article explores the multidi-mensional differences in the use of Chinese language learning strategies among Mongolian high school students from a theoretical perspective. It systematically analyzes the differential effects of three dimensions: motivation type, motivation intensity, and motivation orientation on strategy selection preferences, frequency of use, and situational adaptability. Furthermore, it elaborates on the shaping role of Mongolia's education system and evaluation methods, as well as the mediating effect of Mongolian Chinese language type distance. On this basis, a strategy hierarchical training path based on motivation diagnosis and the principle of motivation adaptive intervention are proposed. Research has shown that using motivational characteristics as a pre variable in strategy teaching can help achieve effective responses in differentiated instruction.
