Abstract

As one of the crucial components of Chinese culture, Chaozhou culture is characterized by fine craftsmanship, openness to the outside world, and has been a significant vehicle for cultural exchange in the Lingnan cultural system and along the “Maritime Silk Road”, Among its rich contents, intangible cultural heritage (ICH) such as Chaozhou embroidery, Chaozhou ceramics, Chaozhou woodcarving, gongfu tea, and Chaozhou opera all contain rich local knowledge and aesthetic systems, forming the core of the living inheritance of Chaozhou culture, However, with the change in times, the traditional forms of spreading Chaozhou culture have encountered problems in practice, such as outdated stories, small audiences and a lack of interest among younger generations. With the development of artificial intelligence, these problems can be addressed, According to the theoretical concepts of “digital commonality” and “technological affordances”, this paper will examine the enabling logic of AI for the spread of Chaozhou’s intangible cultural heritage in the three areas of content production, media forms and user reach, research has shown that AIGC technology can reconstruct the stories of cultural intellectual property, build interactive environments for the preservation of heritage through digital humans, and distribute heritage content with high precision via algorithms; thus, the concept of Chaozhou’s intangible cultural heritage is evolving from static preservation to dynamic rejuvenation, from unilateral transmission to interactive participation, and from mass dissemination to intelligent service. Based on the above, this paper will analyze the risks that may occur in the process of AI empowerment, such as the dilution of cultural authenticity, algorithmic bias, and the loss of subjectivity, and put forward a tripartite innovative path of “value orientation - technology adaptation - talent synergy” to provide a theoretical basis and practical ideas for the creative transformation and international dissemination of outstanding local traditional culture in the intelligent era.
